A note on why these particular rituals: Through my study of global/historical spiritual practices, I discovered that earth connection is my core spirit value. Earth rhythm, recognition, and appreciation is an essential in my being connected and empowered. Modern tools/vibrations/inundations/distractions challenge our connection to earth rhythm. One must work to connect. I began the work by simply saying aloud when it was new or full moon. Soon, people reached out to me in moon times, to honor the connection they’d noticed me celebrating; and so they too were increasing their connection. If nature synchronicity resonates with you, I encourage you to tap into the rhythm. Take note of how natural rhythm (lunar cycle, sunrise, sunset, sitting with a tree, sitting with a river, etc) effects you, and capitalize on what you learn. You may be more productive or introspective in certain times, maybe more emotional or calm in others, noting these dynamics means you can then utilize them to your benefit.
Over years I have practiced many rituals, I’ve kept what works and released what did not. When you explore the tools available to you and actively listen for what serves you best, you can use your lessons to create rituals of your own and utilize those available from many wonderful teachers over time.
Full moon: During full moon or within the three day power window on either side. This is an ideal time to release. Write down your fears or worries, behaviors or relationships that no longer serve you. Again, I like to think of the four categories HOME/CAREER/BODY/RELATIONSHIPS in order to be sure and maintain balance. Remember to be gentle with yourself during this ritual, you are not reflecting in order to create upset, you are doing this to create healing and forward movement. Identify what you are ready to release, be vague or be specific, take 5 minutes or 50, do what you can and remember progress not perfection. Once your list is written, call it out to the moon and as she diminishes in the sky so too shall the things you have given over to her.
There are things I must give over time and time again, some I’m able to release fully. Many times I’ve written something that I thought was a trivial weight on me, only to weep while I give it to the moon, learning that it was actually consuming much of me. The information this ritual provides is useful and the release palpable. Talking to the moon is your own conversation, it may feel awkward when you start but if this is your realm it will quickly become second nature. I generally open with, “Hello, mama moon, thank you for your love and care. I’ve come to release these things to you and ask that you replace them with your light and love…” Feel free to burn the paper on which you wrote your list once you’ve completed the communication.
New Moon: During peak new moon or within the three day power window. An ideal time for manifesting. As the moon grows to full, so too will your manifestations. Use the four categories and write your vision. Dream on your ideal feelings in each category, connecting to the feelings is even more important than the identifying specifics. Use strong language of inclusion; if you say “I want” what you are manifesting is the want… which is not your goal… “I xyz.” will do. Do not think on the HOW, that piece often heightens stress and limits your vision. With this ritual we are creating less stress and releasing tethers, we are breeding joy in your vision of your world and that is so critical. Once you have a declarative list, call it out to mama moon, though the sky is dark, she is out there.
These exercises are helpful when done with regularity. My language of connection is of nature, but through another lens these exercises are obstacle and goal identifiers, useful when done in a two week rhythm similar to moon cycle. Remember that all things are in constant state of change, your self and circumstance included, so expect these things to change along the way. We often lock into identity and it doesn’t always serve us, as we achieve goals that once were appealing and no longer fulfill. Regularly checking in as honestly as possible and allow the dreaming to start anew each time will keep your path aligned with your happiness.
Vaguefacing: To aid your manifesting practice by removing limitation thinking. I named this technique after the TV interviews where people have blurred faces. When you go into a manifesting category you will blur the specifics that are known, in order to really dream up the ideal. Say you visit the “career” category but you know how your boss will respond to something, automatically you limit picturing that thing. In “relationship” your expectation of partner support or reaction may limit what you would allow your ideal dream to be. VAGUEFACE. Blur the boss. Blur the partner. And remember this is all about feeling, much less about detail. I go into blurred career and I feel myself in my personal power, I feel inspiring and supportive relationships with colleagues or maybe I notice that in my ideal I don’t have colleagues and suddenly my vaguefacing has shown me something very important… like a new direction. This also helps you not feel pressure to create a perfect picture. Create a really good feeling, fill it out with whatever comes into focus, let it be. When you’ve done it right your insides feel yummy and a smile dances on your face and heart.
Spaceclearing: Do some level of this every full or new moon. The minimum clearing is a sage or sweet wood, burn it or them and travel through the rooms of your house with it. Clear clutter. Put flowers in your house. Grid your walls by projecting light out your hand and drawing a plaid of light onto all the walls. Wash/wipe down your walls. Verbally affirm your love and safety mantras for your home while you sage.
Replenishment: This useful exercise calls on ever-present energies of earth’s core and divine love to refill your essence, so that you are never depleted. Good work for those who need to remember to receive and times when you simply must be a generous giver. Find it as “core filling” in my Light Work: How To blog. Clearing and opening chakras is at the end of this exercise.
Positivity Shift: My first ritual practice, gratitude. Light a candle and say what you are grateful for out loud. There have been some tough times in my life where these words were hard to find, I started simply but would find that I could keep going and very often I’d find myself overwhelmed by the many reasons I have to be grateful. This is a truly wonderful exercise. We are sold a lie of dissatisfaction every day in many ways because dissatisfied people buy product that will satisfy them. Remembering that you are actually a satisfied person is so helpful. Cherishing what you have is so important. Feeling the good that already is around you is soul filling.
Affirmation Recitation: I was given this affirmation by a friend some years ago. Only with this current regimen have I been saying it with regularity. I’ve often had a hard time saying affirmation. I’ve felt silly or brushed it off as unimportant but saying these words daily has been a really good exercise for me. Perhaps it will be for you as well.

Blessings on your journey. May you find these practices useful. Enjoy this New Moon. I am eager to free write, vaguefacing my visions in all categories, and calling them to the sky to clarify to affirm my positive path. Post new moon ritual you will hear steps to take, do not doubt, listen to that advice, that nudge in your mind, it is in answer to the vision you have called out. If you don’t see the whole path but just see a step, take the step. If you see a path, don’t be overwhelmed, one step at time will do.
