Letting my daughter inspire…

It’s the new moon power window and this morning my daughter was making up a song and I heard her lyric from the kitchen as I made breakfast and lunches for the family- I stopped and came out and asked her to repeat it for me.

“I was scared and scared of the dark, but you just have to be the light.” – Tabitha, 6 years old.

We are going to use that beautiful lyric to set intention with this new moon. Be the light. Listen to your flame. Do you know what pleases you? Live in connection with your pleasure. Healthy, truthful pleasure. This is your journey and today is what we have. You matter. This matters. How can you be more connected with your pleasure, your joy, the goodness of you right now?

That right now is important because you need to meet yourself where you are in capacity. Use this power window! Use all of the days!

Can you schedule yourself delicious activities? Put it on a calendar. Leave yourself reminder notes. They can be simple. They can be brief. They need be in your sweet spot of feel good. Sing your favorites song. Do something that makes you laugh. Make something. Play a game. Drink a favorite tea. Go on a date. Watch a video of the ocean ebbing and flowing. Dance. Sway. Breathe.

In a hard window? A tired window? A stressful window? I get it. Choose the gentlest, most playful path wherever whenever possible.

We are chemical beings and giving yourself levity and joy and pleasure is a chemical way to shift things for yourself. Meet yourself where you are and be the light.

Moon work: Call to the sky! Greet your environment and your ancestors and guides. Ask for guidance for you to feel your light and to grow your light- to tend your joy and your pleasure whenever, however possible. Speak to your readiness to stay connected with your light throughout the day and to pick activities and relationships that protect your light and its truth and its growth. “I live in union with my light, I bring it with me and let it shine bright. Light lives. Light wins.”

Blessed be.
