July New Buck Moon

***NOTE: LUNAR LETTERS SUBSCRIBERS – The host site continues to have issues with my previous method of creating select content for you. There may be a restructuring in our future, but today I’m making the content public for all, so you still get the goods. …all very aligned with this moon’s intention setting…

Monday, July 17 11:31pst

We have entered the power window of this new buck moon. The power window is three days on either side of a peak lunar phase (new or full). Utilizing power windows can ensure the benefit of time in connection with yourself and your environment, and to connect yourself with your environment. Whether you find time in one day, or small moments of connections over the entire 6 day window, there is no right or wrong way to do this lunar work. For new readers: in this blog, you will find an intention specific to this moon, a method to actualize this intention, and suggestions on ritual with the moon.

We are keeping things simple and transformative- yes, both those things. New moon is a time for manifesting, to dream, to spend time living in your joyful vision of a journey that fills you. This moon, we embrace an active light heartedness, we seek out levity, we embrace play, say yes to fun, and in doing so, we welcome more of that in abundance.

Click here if your capacity is limited and you want a five minute ritual connection.

TANGIBLE WORKTake some weight off your shoulders.

Grab a notebook, use it to free write or to sketch in whatever way is most freeing and empowering for your truth and voice. This work is to span the next moonth (new moon to new moon), so consider what’s on your plate in that span of time.

NO MORE BABYSITTING YOURSELF

Sometimes we get serious, oh so serious… about life, personal responsibility, evolution, doing our best, living our best, and well… everything. It is important to counter our serious side and take time- make time- to consciously surrender (TRUST) the truth of your soul goodness, and let yourself have a joyful romp through your journey.

First – Ask yourself: Can you go easier on yourself? What does that look like? Are there things that feel heavy: areas of self judgement, life projects or plans, where you’ve come down on yourself? Write down some of that heavy self criticism and immediately counter with ways to lighten up, either while actively achieving the same goal, or with engaged decisiveness of more vital current priorities.

Next – Are there tried and true methods of joy you can pull into your experience? List them all freely and then return to be selective about what you can do and need to do now; get specific and be realistic while playful. Combine these joy methods with your heavy if possible.

I’ll give a lighthearted (haha) example: the heavy – clutter in my living space, the lighten up – 10 minute cleaning dance party (dance is a proven joy method for me) that can possibly double as toddler fun (bonus combo heavy) and engagement play. Note: I can also wear baby while doing this so the accessibility truth is on point.

2nd example: the heavy – work project, the lighten up – paired with an enjoyable cup of tea and some soothing instrumental music, active choices of ease in relation to the project (see also: my note on making this a public post when host site drama brought the heavy).

*FYI- I first wrote this as a daily practice and realized that structure brings a heavy with it, so NOPE, I’ll embrace the fun idea for the longevity of the moonth and accept it will happen whenever it can. Always go back and edit your offerings to make sure they feel easy and aligned as possible. Accessibility is everything, make choices that have space to exist in your reality and use the tools that empower you best to make sure you call them in… ie put the new tasks in your reminders or calendars, put post-its on your bathroom mirror or a note by your bedside. So, yes, my phone will now ping a daily reminder from July 17-August 16 that reads “cleaning dance party” – and if it doesn’t get checked off that day? I will breathe into the goodness of my alternative priority choices.

***MOON TIME***

It is always lovely to spend time under the starry sky, in an out loud conversation, if possible. Not possible? FINE. Really. Say yes to the connection that can happen, when it can happen. Can you do a moon ceremony in the daytime, from your couch? Yes. Is the moon still in our sky, pulling our tides as it does the water that is the majority of your body? Also, yes.

Wherever you are, take time to thank the earth that holds you safely and vibrantly, the sky that surrounds you and the majesty of the universe, and your place in all of it- a place of abundant opportunity in your vessel of star matter.

Call out to the moon hidden from the starry sky, thank her for the reminder of what exists beyond what we see. Breathe in the truth of abundant opportunity and magic that finds you and quickly and easily transforms life in positive ways. Wait in that thought until a smile comes to your face. Proclaim your readiness to smile more, to say yes to achievement that happens in ways that feel joyful, to allow your heart to open to feeling better every day. Call on your guides and

Shake your body. Kick out the heavies. Send them deep below earths crust, through layers of dirt and into the core magma – let earth mother transform the old heavy into new creation, a new life vibration. Breathe in that new goodness.

Express gratitude for this moment, this connection, this activity. Blessed be.

Additional Ways to Denote New Moon:

Decorate your house. Make it special and fun with flowers/crystals/candles, whatever makes you smile.

Pamper your body. Get a massage. Rub oil on your feet. Wear a face mask. Do your favorite workout. You do you, boo. Celebrate.

Bake or eat something that reminds you of the wealth of earth’s gifts and its abundance. As you enjoy it, notice how it warms and fills you. Revel in the feeling of fullness.

Tell the people you love that you love them.

Give something to someone.

Wish others a happy new moon.

Primp your space.

Do a meditation envisioning the whole world feeling good, healed, healthy.

Light a gratitude ritual, listing all the things in your life for which you are grateful.

Stand in front of the mirror and tell yourself you love you. Say why. Say why some more. Write down those statements as affirmations and recite them daily.

Set intentions in your house. Declare them aloud. “This house is filled with love and laughter. This is a sacred space for rest and for relaxation, for spiritual connection and artistic fulfillment.” – those are my examples, make it yours. Ramble. Get yourself full of the ooey gooey good stuff of the emotions you released for the exercise. Some version of this every new and full moon is highly useful.

Limited Capacity Ritual:

What is one thing that weighs on you in with heavy feelings now? Do you see how you can incorporate more ease, more play, more joy into that task? Write down ideas. Be playful and be practical too- only accessible ideas get accomplished.

Talk to the starry new moon sky, let the universe know that you are ready to smile more, to be more lighthearted even in heavy times, to make space for joy and give yourself permission to feel good.

Sit in gratitude of this moment’s connection, feel the truth of your soul quality, universal elemental alignment, open opportunities of this expansive existence, joyful simple accessible activities, and the truth of you deserving happiness.

Blessed be.
